Consultation Details
Our designer fee is $85 per hour (March-May is $100 per hour), with a minimum of two hours. A budget of 4–5 hours is recommended for full yard projects. Your investment ensures a professional, customized design that reflects your home’s architecture, site conditions, and garden goals.
Your landscape consultation includes:
- Your landscape designer will spend up to an hour on-site, taking photos, measurements and making notes.
- Following your appointment, a comprehensive design packet will be sent to you via email. This packet will include a photo rendering of the proposed layout and plant recommendations with descriptions. Customers can typically expect to receive these within 10-14 business days, though this timeframe may vary depending on the season and the scope of the project.
We also offer on-site horticultural advice, such as plant or tree identification, pruning guidance, soil questions, or drainage solutions. Please be prepared to take notes during your visit.
From there, it depends on your needs:
- If you’d like a landscape installation, we will spend time reviewing ideas, viewing plant suggestions, and providing an estimate. For budgeting purposes, a typical full-service installation starts at $3,500.
- For the DIY enthusiast, we offer comprehensive support. We can provide an estimate, initial sketches, and various planting options. Once you’ve made your selections, we’ll have the plants ready for convenient pick-up or delivery to your doorstep. Alternatively, you can utilize our plans and newfound confidence to space out the work over time, only paying us for the design/service time.
- Either way, once your design is approved, a 50% deposit is required to begin sourcing your plants and materials and to secure your installation or delivery date. The remaining balance is due at the time of installation.
Note: At this time, we do not offer extensive master plans; however, we do have vendors we work with for hardscaping and fencing, should that be something you have in mind.

Rachel specializes in annual beds, containers, and small perennial beds. She enjoys helping clients create stunning residential gardens and landscapes that they will love coming home to.

Plant Warranty & Replacement Policy
Proper care is essential to minimize stress on your plants. Please contact us immediately if a plant begins to decline.
Trees and shrubs planted by Guilford Garden Center are eligible for a one-time replacement within the first year of planting, provided they have been cared for according to Guilford Garden instructions.
- Annuals, Perennials, Herbs, Vegetables, Fruit/Nut Trees, Tropicals, and Houseplants.
- Redbud and Dogwood trees are not covered under warranty.
- Plants planted or kept in raised pots or planters.
- Plants with insect, animal, chemical, or mechanical damage.
- Plants damaged by acts of God, including drought, wind, or excessive rain.
- Plants that have been transplanted or not planted according to the original design.
