We understand at Guilford Garden Center that not everybody likes to “do it yourself”, which is why we offer a range of services to alleviate some of the pressure from your already busy life.
Whether it be a small pruning job or a large planting project you have in mind, our landscape staff pride themselves in being able to carry out a number of tasks backed by practical, on the job, experience. Here’s an idea of just some of the services we offer:
- Lawn Maintenance – We follow the same lawn maintenance program as that which is recommended by the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service.
- Apply horticulture Lime up to twice a year as necessary after testing pH
- Apply Fertilizer three times per year to provide year round balanced nutrition without putting undue stress on the lawn, and using organic alternatives when requested.
- Aerate at least once per year (Usually at time of seeding). More if requested.
- Apply seed in Autumn using quality blends which are suited to our region, we also ensure we use the correct blend for your particular situation.
- Mow as necessary, making sure to keep your lawn at the recommended height.
- Control weeds as necessary with both pre and post-emergent herbicides, and using organic alternatives when requested
- Landscape Consultation – Use our knowledgeable staff to help you plan the progress of your landscape, from a simple entryway, to a grand sweeping plant bed.
- Provide site analysis of existing plants/landscape, and recommend any necessary maintenance procedures.
- Suggest plant materials for proposed planting schemes/natural areas
- Supply a design draft of proposed planting schemes/natural areas
- Plant Maintenance & Installation – Sometimes plants need a little looking after, and we can help you do just that.
- Install plant materials using planting best practices
- Use plant fertilizers/root stimulators/soil conditioners as necessary
- Maintenance and selective pruning of existing plant material
- Pest control and management
- Weed control and management
- Mulching of natural areas
- Custom Container Plantings – If your just not sure how to go about designing and installing that container or pot, we’ll be happy do do it in our store for you.
- Assist with plant selection suited for your situation
- Assist with materials coordination
- Create custom container using quality potting mediums and/or fertilizers
