On Friday 15th January a couple of us made our annual “trek” around the Green and Growing show right here in Greensboro, NC.
Here’s a couple of highlights:

First, a couple of vendors who we have done business with in the past, and will continue to this year.

Gossett’s is a local nursery based right here in Greensboro, and they always have high quality plant material for us.

Many of our compact Hollies come from Gossetts, as well as many of our other shrubs and trees.

You can tell from the booth display that these guys pride themselves on the kind of plant material they produce!

This is the nursery that we get our Encore Azaleas from. Again, a nursery that gives you a pretty good idea of the kind of quality you can expect just by looking at the plant material in their booth.

Talking of Encore Azaleas, we discovered while talking to our Pender rep that there is a new Encore introduction this year called Encore Lilac. We’re quite excited about seeing this one. Check out the link to see what a beautiful color it is!

This nursery does an astounding job with perennials, and a great majority of the perennials we get comes from them

They have introduced a new line this year called “Jeepers Creepers” which we are considering carrying in the store.

They are basically low growing, ground cover type perennials which are perfect for rock gardens, containers, between pavers, etc.
There’s a great selection to choose from, and of course with a mascot like that cute ladybug they’re hard to resist!
