A little snow in the Triad

How pleasant it was to wake up this morning and see some snow on the ground!
Of course it didn’t stick around for long, but it was there for long enough that I could go outside and make a few snow angels with my son before it melted.

The cold, snowy weather has also been attracting a lot more birds to my feeder than normal as well. This morning I saw a red bellied woodpecker for the first time this Winter. I have had downie woodpeckers since mid-fall, but this was the first red-belly sighting for me. Of course, maybe it’s been there all along and I just happened to see it because I was at home all day today! Either way it was cool to see.

That’s the one thing I like about all this cold weather, as long as you keep your feeders filled, you get to see a huge variety of birds
