Putting up a Hummingbird feeder is a pretty sure way to attract hummingbirds to your yard, but if you really want to get these little wonders to hang around why not plant some Annual flowers that they are sure to love! The following is just a small listing, though there are many others available:
* Fuschia – Available in both an upright and trailing form. Bicolor flowers. Prefers shade.
* Impatiens – Good shade plant. Profuse blooms throughout the Summer. A huge variety of colors is available.
* Lantana – Comes in a wide variety of colors. Full sun, fairly drought tolerant.
* Nicotiana – Bushy, upright plant. Sun – pt. shade. Various colors.
* Penta – Bushy and upright. Profuse Clusters of small, tubular flowers. Available in pink, white, or red. Full Sun.
* Petunia – Large blooms in a variety of colors. “wave” type does not require deadheading. Full Sun.
* Portulaca – Very drought tolerant trailing/creeping plant. Available in a variety of colors. Full Sun.
* Verbena – Trailing plant. Relatively drought tolerant once established. “Homestead Purple” variety is perennial. Full Sun.
